*Ingredients:*


- 1 liter full-fat milk

- 1/2 cup sugar

- 1/4 cup cornstarch

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder

- 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads, soaked in 1 tablespoon hot water

- 1/4 cup chopped nuts or dried fruits (optional)


*Instructions:*


1. Boil the milk in a heavy-bottomed pan, stirring occasionally.

2. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes or until the milk thickens and reduces slightly.

3. In a small bowl, mix the sugar, cornstarch, and salt.

4. Gradually add the sugar mixture to the milk, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.

5. Cook for another 5-7 minutes or until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon.

6. Stir in the cardamom powder and saffron-infused water.

7. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight to chill and set.

9. Garnish with chopped nuts or dried fruits, if desired.
