**Lahori chicken Tikka recipe**

Ingredients:

- 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces

- 1/2 cup plain yogurt

- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

- 2 tablespoons ghee or vegetable oil

- 2 teaspoons garam masala powder

- 1 teaspoon ground cumin

- 1 teaspoon ground coriander

- 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper (optional)

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

- 2 large onions, thinly sliced

- 2 large bell peppers (any color), thinly sliced

- 2 large tomatoes, thinly sliced

- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, whisk together yogurt, lemon juice, ghee or oil, garam masala, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper.

2. Add the chicken to the marinade and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

3. Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.

4. Grill the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until it is cooked through and slightly charred.

5. Alternatively, bake the chicken in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until cooked through.

6. While the chicken is cooking, heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender and lightly browned.

7. Serve the chicken tikka with the sautéed vegetables, garnished with cilantro if desired.

Note: Traditionally, Lahori Chicken Tikka is cooked in a tandoor oven, which gives it a unique smoky flavor. If you have access to a tandoor, feel free to use it! Otherwise, a grill or oven will still produce delicious results.
